What if I do not have power where the gate will be?
If you do not have 120V AC power where the gate will be, no worries! All of our gates are fully compatible with solar power, so you can enjoy reliable operation even in remote locations Our efficient 12V system is designed to use minimal energy, making it easy to keep the battery charged using solar panels. Depending on the number of accessories chosen for your gate a second solar panel may be required. For maximum sun exposure and convenience, we also offer solar masts to position your panels optimally.
What happens if there is no sun for an extended period?
Depending on the number of accessories you have on your gate, our 12V system can keep the gate operating for up to 2 weeks with minimal sunlight. We mount our solar panels at an angle to prevent a buildup of snow so that we can maximize the amount of sunlight year-round.
Does the gate come on the frame?
The Command Gate frame system is our preferred method of installing gates. The frame ensures that the gate moves as a whole and not each post moving independently.With the frame the gate will move with the fluctuation of the ground and stay uniform without sagging.
If you have an asphalt driveway, we can still install the frame system or Hydrovac/Screwpiles can be an option for independent posts that we hang the gate from.
How often should I service my gate?
The gate requires minimal service, which can be done by our experienced service technicians, or you can complete the service yourself.
How dependable are the motors in the winter?
Our motors are built and tested in Alberta for our harsh winter climate. We are the only company who tests our motors for the freezing temperatures that Alberta faces in the winter, ensuring that your gate will continue to function.
What happens if my gate gets hit?
Most of our Command Gates are built with flanged gate posts allowing for easy removal without having to remove the gate from the ground. If your gate post has been hit, we can replace the post with ease. If you have damaged the gate panels, our technicians can come and install a loaner panel while the panel is repaired or replaced. If your pedestal post has been damaged, we have repair brackets that can fix a wide variety of damage. Or we can replace the pedestal post.
Can you open the gate with a phone?
We providea variety of options for opening/closing the gate. Our Dialer system acts as a cellphone to your gate allowing users to call or text the gate to open/close fromanywhere in the world. Users can easily program the phone numbers they wish tohave access to the gate and remove numbers they no longer wish to have access.
OurDoorbird system is a camera & access system that connects to the user’sphone through an app allowing visual of visitors at the gate and the power toopen/close the gate for the visitor. The Doorbird app sends notifications tothe user’s phone when the gate is approached so you always know what ishappening at the gate.
Our CG intercom & keypad allows visitors atthe gate to press a button and speak to the owners of the gate to requestaccess. The intercom will dial 3 programmed phone numbers of the owner’s choiceand when the owners answer the call, they can allow visitors to enter theproperty or keep the gate closed
What sizes of gate are available?
Ourstock gate sizes are 16’ and 20’. We hand build all our gates in our shop in Innisfailwhich allows us to build custom to your size needs. We recommend not goingsmaller than 12’ if you want to get a vehicle through the gate and no largerthan 24’ to account for heavy wind load.
Can I open the gate with my vehicle buttons?
TheCommand Gate receiver runs on a proprietary frequency that does not work withthe vehicle’s opener. However, we can install a secondary receiver and remotethat is compatible with your vehicle’s openers.
What is the warranty?
1 Year on parts installed by a trained Command Gate technician.
Do I need a lock on my gate?
You do not need a lock to keep the gate closed. The tension of the motors keeps the gate panels together. We do recommend that the control box and motor pins be locked for added security.

We offer automation packages that include everything you need to automate your existing gate. We can install the automation package, or we can provide comprehensive instructions for you to complete the automation yourself.
Can I install the gate/automation myself?
We offer supply only gate and automation packages. Our gate packages come prebuilt with the panels hung ready for pick up and travel from our shop in Innisfail.Our automation packages can be shipped to your location or picked up from our shop in Innisfail. We provide comprehensive instructions for the gate and automation packages that make it as easy as possible to install yourself.
